Thomas lives with monks in 1300s England, when his nursemaid dies and leaves him with a deathbed confession that changes him forever. He escapes the monks and goes to a town where a knight is being hanged for stealing a chalice. Thomas helps him and the other criminals escape.
They travel to the fortified city of Magnus, said to be built by Merlin himself, and are thrown in prison for no reason. They escape and Thomas starts on the plan that is to regain Magnus to his family.
"Delivered on the wings of an angel, he shall free us from oppression."
I have always enjoyed period books, it probably stems from reading King Arthur and the round table legends. this book is fast pace and incredibly confusing at times, but the plot is great and the characters are amusing. The end is all jumbled up together and sloppy in how it was said, and it was very predictable, good guy always succeeds. It was over all a great book but it needed to be slowed down a bit.
I recommend this to pretty much everyone that enjoys reading period books. I don't think it's that inappropriate but there could be a couple things that could be offensive.
