In the first book we see Magnus reclaimed by Thomas. In this one the people of the sign are waiting with plans to reclaim what they had stolen. The Earl of York comes to Magnus with an offer that Thomas can't refuse. So Thomas and the men of Magnus march of to war against the Scots. The are victorious and Thomas returns home to find out that the Earl of York has declared war on Magnus. What will happen next?
I enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed the first. It is a fast paced, short, historical fiction. It included the famous battle of Robert the Bruce with a new twist. I suggest reading the first book or you won't get who some of the people are.
This book is great for all ages though I don't know if adults would like it as much as the young.
